Joyce Nelson Shellhart graduated from college expecting to have a long career as a high school art teacher. But, little did she realize that life had much different plans for her. Multiple Sclerosis, divorce after a twenty year abusive marriage, and the struggles of a single low-income mother challenged her in ways she had never imagined. Her personal story is victim to survivor and finally thrivor, Joyce is the author of Dress to Impress, How a Navy Blazer Changed My Life. She is the founder and former director of Ready for Success, a non-profit program in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, assisting low-income women with creating more successful personal presentations for the workplace.

Joyce's greatest asset as a professional speaker is her amazing ability to interact with her audiences with humor and honesty. Attendees of her programs walk away feeling that not only have they received a strong message worth considering, but it was delivered by a very open friend. Joyce began her speaking career in 1997 as a spokesperson for the Ready for Success program. She has developed her unique style through spokesperson, to marketing her skills to a niche market and to sharing her motivational story with an even wider audience.
