Sven Sundgaard - The Sunny Side of your next event!
Sven was born and raised in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis- St. Paul, Minnesota. He wanted to be a meteorologist since he was 13 years old, fascinated early on by all the atmosphere could produce. Sven received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences from St. Cloud State University in 2003. While at St. Cloud State he carried out research in thermodynamics, specifically first law of thermodynamics applications to the atmosphere. Sven created a model to forecast temperatures from weather balloon data and forecast atmospheric profiles.
He has worked at the National Weather Service- Twin Cities, and primarily in television. Sven started as a morning meteorologist in Duluth, Minnesota and quickly worked his way up to chief meteorologist after little more than a year. After only a couple years in the business Sundgaard made the almost unheard of jump at to a large market, to KARE-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul in early 2006 where he is currently employed as a Friday through Sunday meteorologist for the evening newscasts.
Sven speaks to groups in the Twin Cities and nationally on topics such as weather, global warming, etc. Sven also custom tailors programs per the client's needs on topics of such as mentoring, motivation, good health - and he is the perfect choice to host or emcee your next event!

Thanks for the great class last night in South St Paul! Katie (8) and Allie (5) think it is pretty awesome that they got to meet a real celebrity. Kate was excited to learn about tornados. She said on the way home; Sven is so smart! He knew the answer why the sky looks green before a storm. Mom, even you didn't know that! Well, out of the mouths of babes. You were a hit again this AM when the girls saw your face in the daily paper. Kate can't wait to get her picture printed off so she can share it with her whole 2nd grade class. Thanks for sharing your love of weather. It will be an interesting summer watching the kids look at the thunderstorms in a new way!
