CBS' Survivor Vanuatu changed Chad Crittenden's life, almost as profoundly as losing his foot to Cancer just a year previous to applying to appear on the hit reality show. At the prime of his life, and as a teacher, athlete and new dad, Chad discovered what turned out to be a tumor on the bottom of his foot, which, to his dismay, required amputation. With his positive attitude and remarkably quick recovery, he returned to competitive triathlon within 9 months and subsequently appeared on CBS' hit reality show Survivor. Today, Chad speaks to thousands across the country, sharing his story and his strategies for success. When not on the road, Chad is at home with his wife and two kids as a stay-at-home dad and author. His family resides in Livermore, California in the San Francisco bay area.


Chad illustrates to audiences his experiences on Suvivor: Vanuatu, as well as the strategies he has used to overcome obstacles and achieve; and shares them in the form of 5 concepts: Steps, Circumstances, Optimism, Risk, and Experience. These Conceptual Tools have helped Chad beat cancer and embrace his new life as a challenged athlete and stay-at-home Dad, and he outlines their practical applications.
